Our Journey to a New Vision
The KiddieCade was born from my own journey as a mom, and a realization that families — especially parents — deserve more than just a place to pass the time.
In 2023, fifteen years after welcoming our first child, Zion, my husband Bryn and I were overjoyed (and a little surprised!) to learn we were expecting again — this time, a baby girl named Kalani. At the time, we were both working full-time as registered nurses, juggling hectic schedules and raising a teen. When Kalani arrived, I made the big decision to pause my career and become a stay-at-home mom — a shift that opened my eyes in ways I never expected.
As Kalani grew, I started looking for places where I could take her to play, learn, and socialize — but also places where I could have a moment to breathe, think, and be more than just “mom.” Time after time, I found myself stuck between wanting meaningful activities for her, and craving adult conversation, peace, or even just a hot cup of coffee that hadn’t gone cold. Parent meetups, PTA meetings, even casual coffee outings — they all turned into a balancing act between engaging my daughter and trying (and usually failing) to get anything done for myself.
Play cafés were cute, but never quite the answer. The coffee was often cold by the time I got to sip it, the seating was uncomfortable, and the constant need to supervise made it impossible to focus or relax. I didn’t want to just sit near my daughter while she played — I wanted to feel good in the space too. I wanted to know that her play was purposeful and enriching, and that I could take a moment for myself without guilt.
That’s when the idea for The KiddieCade came to life.
I imagined a place designed for both of us — an aesthetically pleasing lounge where kids could explore fun yet educational activities safely and independently, and where parents could enjoy thoughtful amenities like delicious coffee, cozy seating, and quiet workspaces. A space where connection, creativity, and comfort exist for every member of the family.
The KiddieCade isn’t just a business — it’s our family’s answer to a need we felt firsthand. And now, we’re proud to share it with you.
Our Mission
At The Kiddiecade, our mission is to cultivate a secure, stimulating, and educational environment creating a “third space” between daycare and entertainment centers. We are the home of SmartPlay, dedicated to providing families with a distinctive space that not only nurtures creativity but also promotes social interaction and cognitive development through a blend of technology-driven games and engaging hands-on activities.
Our goal is to create a holistic approach to childhood learning, ensuring that every child can thrive while parents enjoy an elevated lounge experience. By fostering a community where families can connect and children can flourish, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
